This 151,000 sq. ft. high school located in Deer Park, Washington, was designed to be constructed with an occupied-phased approach. The renovation portion of this project included updating the existing classroom wings, main gymnasium, kitchen, shops, and locker rooms. The additions to the facility included a new auxiliary gym, commons area, auditorium/theater and an additional classroom wing.
The HVAC system utilized for the high school was a Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS) with 4-Pipe Fan Coil Units. The school was designed to meet the Washington Sustainable School Protocol, and was awarded an Energy Star rating. The district received incentive/rebate money from Avista Utilities of just over $100,000 based on the energy savings of the mechanical sytems.
